Generate Fast Cash From Home By Using Testimonials On Your Website
By Bob Withers
According to the “Answers” website a testimonial is: “A statement in support of a particular truth, fact, or claim. A written affirmation of another’’s character or worth; a personal recommendation. Something given in appreciation of a person’’s service or achievement; a tribute.” Testimonials have been in use online since the inception of
Internet marketing and, of course, they”ve been employed offline much longer than that.
We”ve all seen the long sales letters on websites containing testimonial after testimonial extolling the virtues of a particular product and how it will change your life. The reason you see so many of these testaments is they seem to work. According to “the best of” website only 14% of people surveyed trust television advertising while 78% believe what people say in consumer recommendations.
According to this trend these recommendations are a must for your home business website to help you close the deal and make the sale. These tributes accomplish three things for your product: They increase its credibility, they enhance its image and they provide social validation for your merchandise. These three characteristics help influence your prospects to purchase your product.
For these reasons you should always request a testimonial from your customers. Don”t be afraid to ask because people who are satisfied with your product are usually more than happy to oblige. For this reason you should always expect to receive one from your happy customers and when you ask for this recommendation you should always make it easy for your client to fulfill their end of the bargain.
Some people may ask you to write it for them and then have them sign it. They may not be confident in their writing abilities or they may be struggling with what to say. Of course, if this happens you can agree but you must write a concise and honest portrayal of your experience with this particular client.
When you complete the testimonial, send it to your customer and ask him or her to read it and make any changes they want before sending it back. You can never have enough of these testaments so you should ask all of your satisfied customers to write one for your product.
When you”ve collected several of these documents you can then select the best ones for publication on your website. A well written testimonial should address several key points. It should outline the benefits offered and how the merchandise satisfied the claims made during the sales process.
The recommendation should relate to your prospects so that when they read it they can say to themselves: “That’’s what happened to me”, or they can say: “I”m like you”, referring to the person who wrote the statement.
You should ask the customer to sign their full name and include where they”re from. It’’s all about believability and the more information you have about the person the better. Audio testaments seem to work better than written statements and video works better than audio. The testimonial should be short and to the point while being specific about the benefits of your merchandise and about the problems solved by your product.
Believability and credibility are the buzz words when it comes to effective recommendations from your clients. If they meet these two criteria they should go a long way toward helping close sales on your home business website.
