Creating your Custom Facebook Fan Page
By seomul Evans
Business owners will find that creating a Facebook fan page can bring significant advantages to one’’s business. Instead of using your personal folio, you can keep things professional by using your fan page in order to send news, updates and information regarding your business. You can also include reviews, articles and links that are related to your business on your public profile. A Facebook social page serves to promote your business, and at the same time, allows you to conduct and complete business transactions online.
Making a Facebook public profile for your business is easy. Simply go to any business folio or public page. From there, you will find a “Create a Page for My Business” link, located at the bottom left of the page. You will then be asked to give a name, and a prompt will appear where you have to agree to the terms and conditions of public Pages. This is basically all you need to do in order to create a Facebook public page.
You will then be directed to your default Facebook fan page which contains the basic Facebook tabs, including the Wall, Info and Boxes. These tabs cannot be removed or renamed in the latest version of Facebook. You can, however, choose to add other tabs to your page, such as Events, Notes, Links and Discussion Board, to name just a few. You can also choose your page’’s default page by setting the Default Landing Tab on the Edit Page option. There are also a number of other options you can set, such as whether fans will be allowed to write on the wall or to post media and links to your fan page.
There are many other tabs and applications that you can add to your Facebook public page, depending on what you need. Some of the more popular applications include My Google Calendar, Extended Info, My LinkedIn Profile, My Stuff, Networked Blogs, to name just a few. Of these applications, however, the FBML application remains to be the most useful when making a custom Facebook page. The FBML application lets you insert various html codes to different tabs on your fan page, giving you unlimited options as to how your fan page will look and what the contents will be.
Creating a Facebook fan page is a simple task that can provide numerous benefits for your business. Make one today!
