Outdoor Furniture Benches Can be Used Indoors and Outdoors

By Patricia Holland

Outdoor furniture benches are industrial-strength benches used by schools, office parks, municipal parks, atriums, theme parks, rest stops, train stations, bus stops, shopping malls, and common areas near public buildings. Each bench is made from heavy-duty, galvanized steel and can be used indoors as well as outdoors.

Just a few examples of how specific are used in by specific organizations use different model types include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Sports clubs and dugouts like the benches without backs.
* Slatted benches are ideal for corporations whose landscapes feature a strong contemporary look.
* Ushaped outdoor furniture benches bench make attractive additions to storefronts, public parks, and town squares because their thick contemporary leg design represents a versatile aesthetic that works with many different types of architecture and landscapes.
* Wire benches are used by organizations in wet climates where seating needs to dry off as quickly as possible to accommodate waiting guests.

In addition to choices in construction and model design, clients also have a choice when it comes to how to mount these units.

Generally speaking, permanently anchoring a bench to a surface is done to prevent accidental impact from dislodging it, or to prevent theft.

Outdoor furniture benches can be permanently mounted to the ground in one of two ways.
If the bench is being placed on a concrete or wooden surface, it is surface mounted by drilling holes into the hardscape and securing the discs at the bottom of the bench to the surface with anchors and bolts.

If the bench is being mounted directly to the earth itself, it will need the support of concrete anchoring to remain in place. First, the bench is modified by an understructure consisting of 18-inch pipe extensions welded to a flatbar at the bottom of each foot. Holes are then dug in the ground and filled with concrete, and the pipe is set in this concrete while it is still wet.

Portable mounting does not require anchoring and gives an organization the advantage of mobility and redecorating the environment at will. The whole appearance of a rotunda, sidewalk, patio, or park can be rearranged just by moving the benches around.

Another key advantage to portable outdoor furniture benches is that they can still be permanently anchored to the ground with simple third party surface mounting or ground mounting kits.

Organizations on a budget should strongly consider the benefits of buying a portable unit and giving themselves the freedom to decide when and where to permanently mount it with cost effective adaptations that can be purchased in any hardware store.

The thermoplastic powder coating that is used to protect outdoor furniture benches makes each and every model, regardless of construction build, color, or design type, super resistant to weather and rust.
Thermoplastic powder coating has consistently demonstrated its ability to make units more vandal resistant and more resistant to extremes of heat, rainfall, and bitter cold. It also protects color by keeping paint from peeling and delaminating.
