On the other hand, a site that actually does something important (or at the very least desirable) and that carries out that role effectively will magnetically attract third-party attention. Of course, that goes beyond the quality of any particular product and encompasses proper on-page SEO, good design and effective content.
Search engine optimizers may like the idea of being able to transform any site into a top ranker, but even the cockiest among them will concede that it’’s a lot easier to get to the top if you deserve to be there in the first place.
Second, create quality outposts that provide links to your sites. Those who rely on quantity-based link acquisition strategies often create a variety of inbound links on so-called Web 2.0 sites and other pieces of free virtual real estate. That’’s a wonderful way to produce thousands of virtually meaningless links, but it doesn”t really aid obtaining the powerful backlinks that make a real difference in rankings. Instead of squatting on small chunks of freely available territory, consider making valuable contributions to respected sites in the form of articles or guest blog posts. We”re not talking about article directory submissions. Instead, you”ll want to put your best foot forward by offering meaningful content to sites whose links can make a difference.
The days of ranking for competitive terms with nothing more than on-site SEO “tricks” and a series of low-caliber links are gone. Google is constantly making algorithm updates to protect the alleged integrity of their results. Easy-to-spot efforts at loophole exploitation never produce long-term results. While legitimate on-page SEO is still a key component of optimization, ranking high is now directly tied to the acquisition of powerful links and, in most cases, you must earn those links.
