Simple SEO For Your Website

The most important thing that can be stated when it comes to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is it is not a magic trick and it will not do your work for you. What is more, the algorithms that search engines use to calculate rankings change frequently in an effort to exclude sites that use nothing but tricks to get better site rankings. This is often done when the actual site has very little real or useful content. Filling your site with nothing more than tricks is a useless endeavor, as you will be forever chasing the changes.
Your focus should be on the customer you want to attract. You need to design your site with that objective in mind, providing information that would prove useful to a client and supplies information about your products or services. The information pages or articles should be unique and informative and regularly added to keep reminding the search engines that your site exists.
With quality and customer service in mind, there are still certain things that can help your site be more easily discovered and highlighted by search engines.
Title tags (Short descriptive title here) should be used as shown, with a title between the two tags that describes the page. It should be relevant to the key idea from the page and be no more than six or seven words long. This tag should appear in the head section of your HTML document, and is used by search engines to match the search terms being supplied by the online searcher.
The phrase you use in the title should also appear in the text of the page. This not only helps the search engines match your page, but also tells them that your title tag wasn”t falsely composed to trick the search engine into displaying your page in the result listings.
Keywords should be repeated within the text, but don”t overdo this. Unnatural use of keywords is called keyword stuffing. Rather than bringing in more visitors it will drive away those who do drop by because your site will appear forced, and will make a lot less sense affecting your credibility as an expert on the subject.
Do not assume the images you have on your page that contain keywords will count or be picked up, as search engines simply cannot read them. Instead you should write a description of the image if appropriate, and remember to use the “alt” tag to present the search engine a text description of the image (for example; alt=”Picture of an at home worker” only with your text between the speech marks).
You also need to remember that all of your pages need to obey these simple principles. Though you may have an index page there is no knowing whether a user will search out terms that send them there, rather it is equally likely that they may arrive first at any page within your site.
Once a visitor reaches you, your task becomes converting the visitor into a customer. Your site must be informative and impress the person enough they feel they can trust your knowledge and expertise resulting in an online sale.
When the focus on building a quality site is maintained the need for SEO tricks diminish and your visitor to customer conversion rate is likely to increase.
