Does Conventional Seo Still Work?
By imteaz ahmed
Search engine optimization is by no means a static field. Ever since the Google Sandbox concept was introduced into their search engine software code, the process of creating good websites with optimized results for search engines is one that has been dynamic, changing multiple times a year. That having been said however, the types of things that change are the bells and whistles. The basic aspects of how a search engine ranks results have been the same almost since the creation of the internet and for that reason conventional search engine optimization still works and works very well. If you go through with it, you will find that your results will be just about as good as they ever were through its utilization.
The first aspect of search engine optimization that is important is the idea of targeting for a particular keyword. This means that if you want your website ranking well for a specific keyword, you need to not only utilize that keyword in the title and body of your website, you also need to make sure that the other people that are linking to your website end up doing so through an anchor text that has the same keyword for which you are trying to rank high. If you manage to do both of these things, you will find when all is said and done that conventional search engine optimization is an excellent way to do things because you will end up receiving a very high ranking from those keywords, provided you have enough links from high ranking websites that your Google Page Rank ends up high enough for a good ranking on that keyword.
Those have always been the two basic aspects of search engine optimization; proper keyword selection and massive amounts of incoming links relative to the outgoing links. For that reason, conventional search engine optimization has always been based on those two ideas and it is a tactic that is not going to change anytime soon. While the major search engines may change them slightly, the basic premise will always remain the same. For all the griping that people do about websites that cheat their way into the higher rankings through the use of black hat strategies, there is a general sense of acknowledgement that the number of websites linking to a particular website is actually the fairest estimation of the online gravitas that website has. Until that general acceptance changes (and it likely never will), conventional SEO will always be an effective technique.
So the next time you take a look at a website that tells you it does not work, be very suspicious of what that website. Be especially suspicious if this claim is made at the same time the website is attempting to sell you a substitute strategy that you can use to help.
