Landing Pages- An Aid for Conversion

Search Engine Optimization tools were devised to bring good traffic to websites. But traffic does not necessarily equate to profit if it does not convert into sales or leads. That is why an online marketer’’s work does not end at having a top ranking website. He still has to optimize almost every tool he has employed for visitors to do more than just browse through his site.

Every marketing plan is designed to motivate people to buy or take a particular action for the benefit of the business. Therefore there is more than just having an amazing website with appealing images. The elements and lay out of the website need to have a valuable purpose, which is to motivate visitors to buy.

However, since every page of your website is optimized and may contain essential keywords for a certain search subject, visitors may often land on them rather than on your homepage.

Have you ever tried to search for a particular product or service and expected to land on the website’’s homepage? However, you find yourself on a on the products page or testimonials page. But then the page you landed on provided you with the information you wanted to know anyway.

Although for some small business who offer limited product, their homepage may be their landing page. However, for other businesses, especially the ones that have a number of competitors, they often create landing pages to take consumers directly to a page where they are provided with the information they are looking for.

For example, when a web user clicks on a PPC ad, he may either be brought to the website’’s homepage, or a page wherein they are provided with the product or service details that would eventually pull them into conversion. In short, landing pages are the pages where visitors arrive at after clicking an ad or a promotional feature and are encouraged to act now. They may either be asked to fill out a form, read a lot of information, or even provide personal details, depending on the marketer’’s goal.

Landing pages are basically used for capturing prospect clients and making them take a particular action. And since landing pages are usually optimized pages, meaning it is designed is a way that search engines can easily pick them up by using valuable keywords for your niche market, it may also contain links that would direct visitors to your website or a particular page in your website which will nonetheless motivate them to take an action.
